Support for Former Klaussner Employees
Sandhills Center is collaborating with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, Gov. Roy Cooper, and our provider network to ensure that former employees of Klaussner Furniture have the behavioral health support they need as a result of the closure of the company’s Asheboro facility.
Sandhills Center Assistance
If you or a family member needs a referral for services, you are encouraged to call Sandhills Center 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays. Our Call Center can be reached, toll-free, at 1-800-256-2452 (or TTY: 1-866-518-6778).
When you call, our customer services representatives will assist you to find the provider that is well-matched to your needs.
If someone is experiencing a crisis that is not life-threatening, you may talk directly to a clinician by calling Sandhills Center’s Behavioral Health Crisis Line at 1-833-600-2054. It is a free call.
If someone is in imminent danger to themselves, you or others, dial 911 immediately.
Daymark Recovery Services
In Randolph County, there are two crisis behavioral health centers that are operated by Daymark Recovery Services in partnership with Sandhills Center. These centers are for individuals with insurance or those who are indigent with no insurance. The centers allow you to walk in (no appointment necessary) for an assessment and referral to additional services. Following are the center locations:

Mobile Crisis Services
Sandhills Center partners with Mobile Crisis management teams that are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Mobile Crisis services offer assessments and interventions for youth and adults experiencing mental health and substance-related crises. Mobile Crisis teams can come to your location within two hours of a call being placed.
For affected former Klaussner employees who live in Hoke, Lee, Montgomery, Moore, Randolph and Richmond counties within the Sandhills Center region, Mobile Crisis services are provided by Therapeutic Alternatives. Call (toll-free) 1-877-626-1772.

- Randolph Community College (RCC) offers emotional support services specifically for displaced Klaussner employees. RCC also works with various industries and organizations by hosting hiring events to directly connect displaced Klaussner employees with hiring companies. RCC aims to facilitate networking and employment opportunities for those seeking new roles. - If you do not have health insurance, you may be eligible for behavioral health, mental health and substance use disorder services through Hope4NC. Hope4NC can connect you to the help you need, whenever you need it. Call or text to 1-855-587-3463, for free and confidential emotional support, counseling referrals and community resources. You also may speak with a crisis counselor on the Hope4NC website. This service is confidential and available 24/7.
- Sandhills Center offers Access2Care, a web-based behavioral health screening tool that is free, anonymous and confidential. Take a screening to determine if you or someone else needs to seek additional support or treatment for 12 different behavioral health concerns.
