Sandhills Center seeks a provider for B-3 SAIOP for Women

Sandhills Center requests proposals from for-profit and non-profit providers to provide Intensive Recovery Supports for women with a substance abuse disorder whose Medicaid county, as designated by the Department of Social Services, is within the Sandhills Center catchment area: Anson, Guilford, Harnett, Hoke, Lee, Montgomery, Moore, Randolph, and Richmond. Agencies are not required to be in the current Sandhills Center provider network, but if selected through this Request for Proposal (RFP) process, services must be provided within the Sandhills Center catchment area.

The Intensive Recovery Supports program is a recovery-based, consumer-focused community program designed to strengthen the recipient's recovery and independence. Services are designed around the preferences and choices of the individual, and will focus on training and supports to include citizenship skills, communication, crisis management, relapse prevention, socially-appropriate behaviors, self advocacy, informed choice, community integration and relationship buidling.

Population to be served: Medicaid recipient must be a woman, age 18 or older, who is either pregnant or has a minor child; has a diagnosis of substance use disorder; has been discharged from substance use treatment within the last 60 days, including discharge due to lack of successful treatment; has a minimum of an ASAM Level 1 Outpatient, AND has a functional impairment related to substance use that interferes or limits one or more major life activities. Recipients may not have a primary diagnosis of an intellectual or developmental disability, or organic brain syndrome.

Only those parties submitting a written request will receive a copy of the RFP document and application. Written requests must be received by June 12, 2019.

Question and Answer (Q&A) Sessions: Attendance at one or both of the Question and Answer sessions is not required. The purpose of the Q&A is to answer questions potential applicants may have regarding completion of the proposal, services, time requirements, etc.

In West End: Tuesday, June 11, 2019, at 2:00 pm: The Sandhills Center, 185 Grant Street, 1st floor conference room, West End, NC 27376

In Greensboro: Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at 11:00 am: The Sandhills Center, Room 201, 201 N. Eugene Street, Greensboro, NC 27401 (Please allow time for parking)

o Guilford County has changed the parking structure at our Greensboro location and there is NO visitor parking at this location. They are enforcing the restrictions by ticketing and in some cases towing.

o We suggest that you park at "Preferred Parking" located next to our building at 422 W. Friendly Avenue. The entrance is on Friendly Ave. Parking is $5.00 a day at the kiosk. The kiosk operates on debit/credit cards only. After paying, place your receipt on your dashboard.

Minutes will be taken at the Q&A and will be mailed to all potential applicants who have requested a copy of the RFP in writing from the Sandhills Center.
