What Direct Enrolled Providers Need to Have
Once enrolled to Sandhills Center a letter that confirms acceptance will be sent to the provider and will not need to be resubmitted, even if the provider moves to another employer. The Clinician will need to notify the Sandhills Center LME Service Management Department of the change in employment. Proof of professional liability insurance may be requested at any time AND the Clinician needs to notify the Sandhills Center LME Service Management Department of any change in professional liability coverage. This request is no different than what is required by private insurance companies.
On seeing a new consumer, the provider needs to request approval to see the consumer in the SHC service area. A return letter will be sent from Service Management that may be required by DMA when the provider bills the Medicaid service.
Providers also need to be aware of Medicaid Bulletin for September, 2006, page 17 regarding National Provider Numbers.
