Sandhills Center is an Area Authority/Local Management Entity charged with the development, management, and oversight of an arrray of mental health, developmental disabilities, and substance abuse services to the citizens in the following eight counties in south-central North Carolina: Anson, Harnett, Hoke, Lee, Montgomery, Moore, Randolph, and Richmond.
Services are delivered through a provider community consisting of private non-profit, for profit, community, and in-house service providers.The operations of the Local Management Entity is accomplished through the functions of the following LME Sections: Access/Screening, Service Management, Provider Relations, Customer Service, Quality Management, Community Collaboration, and Planning.The Center is operated and governed by an Area Board comprised of individuals appointed by the County Commissioners for each of the eight counties. Sandhills Center adheres to Federal, State, and local guidelines concerning confidentiality, treatment, and personal matters.
