Sandhills Center acts as an agent of the North Carolina Department of Health & Human Services to provide residents of nine counties with access to Medicaid and State-supported services for mental health, intellectual/developmental disabilities or substance abuse.
It is governed by a Board of Directors made up of representatives from each of the nine County Commissions and their appointees. Central administrative offices are located at 1120 Seven Lakes Drive, West End, NC.
Sandhills Centerís toll-free telephone lines can be reached from anywhere in the nine-county service area at any hour of the day or night, including weekends and holidays.
Residents can ask questions, talk with a licensed clinician, and make appointments with providers of services.
Sandhills Center has contractual arrangements with many providers of professional services and treatment options.
